Approximately 50% of my patients come from outside the United States; Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America. Almost 20% of my patients are Doctors and their families.

What I Tell My Patients

I will be honest with you and maybe tell you things you do not want to hear like "Leave your nose alone" or "Do not do a brow lift". The most common problems I see are patients who have done too many things.

Remember today when seeking cosmetic surgery, fillers, botox or laser, you are a customer. If I advise you against doing a procedure, I feel strongly enough about it to turn down a potential fee. I fully explain to you the benefits, risks and possible complications, recovery and rewards. For me to perform a surgical procedure on someone the benefits and results must far outweigh the negatives of expense, risk, pain, and recovery.

In spite of what you may hear or read on the internet or in magazines, there are no secret techniques or procedures which one plastic surgeon knows how to do. Facelift techniques such as "deep plane" have been utilized for over 20 years and studies have demonstrated that deep plane facelift does not give any better results than other standard techniques such as SMAS or plication techniques. Results are more dependent on the surgeon performing the operation, not the technique. The most important difference between plastic surgeons is aesthetic judgment - what and how much to do and what not to do.

Hype and marketing are strong forces at play on patients' emotions and insecurities. Usually new techniques come and go often leaving the patient disappointed with the result at great expense. If a new laser or surgical procedure sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Plastic surgery can accomplish major changes and improvements in the face, nose, eyes, breasts and body. If the proportions and aesthetic lines are kept normal, the results will be natural, which is what most patients desire. I perform all surgery myself without assistants, and you will look natural.
